Tonight Trace started reading this to Jack:

They were sitting outside on the back porch after dinner, and Jack was listening intently. They're reading Trace's copy from when he was a kid.

Jack was almost falling asleep, but he didn't want Trace to stop reading. I actually saw his eyelids touch at one point, but he soldiered on for four chapters.
This may soon be Jackson's favorite book too!

That is one of my favorites. So much adventure and so much realism. I wanted to be right there with him. Good choice. I gave Jack a little motorcycle for Christmas, now he just needs the mouse!
love you,
Grandma Jo
Oh no he doesn't! We have mice, and I don't want them. They're cute as can be, but the disease they can spread is not so cute, so I want them gone. No mice for us!
Sounds like the perfect read aloud book for Jack.
I loved that book when I was little. I think my boys would too so thank you for the reminder! :)
